Quality Standards

Ecolait is HACCP approved since June 2002. It carries on improving its processes and working techniques in association with the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency). Ecolait aspires to increase the QUALITY of its products persistently. From its own laboratory, the company manages various microbiological tests (escherichia, enterobacteria, coliform, listeria) on all its products, as well as on used water and equipments. An external laboratory accredited by the CFIA accomplishes the microbiological tests for the pathogenic.

Ecolait spends quite a fastidious time mastering the cold chain throughout the manufacturing process: from cooling carcasses to transformation and packaging, all the way to shipping. The aim is to offer customers the freshest products.

The company is equipped with a traceability system. The ATQ program ( Agri-Traçabilité Québec), nothing short of a world first, enables Ecolait to trace the calf's movements, from its birth to the slaughterhouse. This allows Ecolait to certify the quality and the origin of its raw materials.

To satisfy all customers, the company also offers slaughtering with respect to Halal and Kosher rites.
